FabIndia Night Cream with Vit-E Review
I was never in a habit of using night creams and don’t get me wrong, neither am I now. Though night creams come with a noble idea of bringing all-night nourishment and hydration, most of these are very thick and sticky. So my natural instinct HATES one of these.
Aging skin is an inevitable fact of advancing age, which all of us wish we could ignore and do well with that. But can I ignore pollution? Harsh sun and all those weather conditions that come as a side effect of a Modern lifestyle? No I can’t. None of us can.
Add to that my “Combination skin’s” tendency to behave dry in winters and sometimes in summer all of a sudden, I am in for a disaster anytime. Like ANY damn time! Maybe Night cream can help me, I thought.
So I tried many depending on my mood-swings and came up with a list of reasons I shouldn’t use them. Yet I had to finally give in when it was way too DRY for me to bear it. Almost Like Eczema.
Here is my experiment and observations with FabIndia Night Cream with Vit E that I tried these winters.

FabIndia’s Typical tub pack is the usual container of this cream too. Then there is that added protective lid underneath, maybe to avoid spillage. Open it and find a very thick smooth cream (feels even thicker under winter temperatures) that feels uncomfortably sticky on fingers while scooping out or applying on the skin. Smell is mild and pleasant. Not irritating at all and doesn’t linger for more than a half hour.
I used it at night after washing my face clean. I hoped it would get absorbed within an hr but it didn’t. Maybe I just need to use in lesser quantities. My skin was way too dry and I may have scooped out too much in distress. Then I prefer to sleep as soon as possible or watch TV- anything that takes my mind off the stickiness.
I woke up to a superbly smooth and nourished skin next day. I was pleasantly surprised by this cream. Very very surprised, I must say. It really is one of the best night creams for very dry skin. It will take some time to recognize how little amount you can manage to apply and yet reap the best effects.
Over the time, I realized a small amount is enough and a small tub goes for a long way. It’s my new found winter saviour!
Moral of the Story: Not everything sticky is BAD. Haha…
Pros and Cons:
As for its evaluation:
- Small amount is required for every single use, so the tub runs for a long while.
- Pleasant mild fragrance.
- Works great for hands, elbows and knees
- Superb hydrating effect on the skin overnight.
- Not Travel friendly. May leak in summers.
- Doesn’t get absorbed in the skin for a long time.
- Messy to scoop out of the tub.
- Tub packaging is a bit messy.
- Contains Parabens which harm environment.
- May need refrigeration in summers so it doesn’t get runny.
- Costly: Cost increasing steeply over the past years.
Definitely this cream is very hydrating which is very much noticeable- supple, smooth and hydrated. The longer I used, the more my skin’s texture improved.
Always do a patch testing before use to rule out allergies. Definitely a once try for Dry skinned folks.
