Wear Cropped-tops without Baring Skin
There must be ways to flaunt the Cropped-tops without cropping your sanity off, I thought. And I was right. Baring skin would be the most abhorred on the fear list, me thought. And I knew I was right there too. If you are already interested in this post, chances are you might have experienced the horror I just mentioned about.
Follow the approaches below while styling your cropped-tops. Not only would these basics help to declutter your top-rut, but also provide you with an endless variation of creative outfit-ideas.
1. Watch out for proportions:
Understanding your body’s structure is the most important. The trick is to recognize the narrowest part of your waist. This can be a bit higher for some people and lower down for others. Then choose the top such that it ends at just about the line passing that narrowest part. Leave an inch or a half and then align with the lower garment. Make that a high-waist jeans or a skirt worn higher up than the usual. Thus, leaving minimal skin-gap (and thus minimal baring) between the top and the bottom pieces, this trick enhances a feminine silhouette at the same time.
2. Layer Underneath:
Always experiment with layering some garment underneath the cropped-top. Try layering by adding a shirt, another top or why not even a cropped top of a greater length under the main cropped-top. It’s also a winter-friendly idea to layer snug-fit sweaters or high neck tops beneath a ‘pop-of-colour cropped-top’.
3. Layer Over:
By now, you all know how layering comes to an amazing rescue. If you don’t feel like you have right sorts of clothes to layer-under for above technique, go for a Layer-Over. Layer a loose shirt, shrug or a jacket over the cropped-top, such that it covers most of the bare-skin beneath it.
4. Wear Heels:
Girls, you would never-ever-ever go wrong with a pair of matching heels. This helps in elongating your abs thus giving you a leaner waist. Use this tip as the basis to build upon for above set of ideas.
Get your amazing pairs out and match them properly, never mind the extra 15 minutes you lose. Trust me on this; it’s more important that they feel like a part of the overall outfit and not a stupid odd-one-out.
